Deanna Kravetz
Deanna Kravetz is an active trainer in the New England hunter/jumper community. She has had a long history of love and appreciation for horses, beginning riding as soon as she could sit up in the saddle. While earning a bachelor’s degree in Equine Business Management from the University of New Hampshire, Deanna trained at Fieldstone Show Park where she successfully competed in the hunters, equitation, and jumper rings.
Upon graduation from college, Deanna had the pleasure of working both at home and ringside at shows for such trainers as Olana Laffey at Evenstride Ltd, Kristen Bumpus at Arrowhead Farms, and other accomplished New England trainers. After much tutelage, Deanna began Over the Oxer Equestrian in 2009, a full-service lesson, training and show program. Deanna's students have had numerous successes at MHC, MHJ, Pony Finals, NHHJA, Downeast Medal Finals, and NEHC Finals. She is also very proud of her IEA team’s success at the Regional, Zone, and National level.
Deanna emphasizes riding theory in her lessons, teaching students the why of riding as well as the how. Her personal passions are bringing along young horses as well as helping to foster a deeper connection between horse and rider. And it is Deanna’s highest joy to foster and share her love of horses with her son Parker.
Deanna was very excited to bring her knowledge and passion for the sport to Senator Bell Farm in 2022, and she is now elated to breathe new life back into Over the Oxer Equestrian by heading the program at Senator Bell Farm.
Andrea Laffey
Andrea Laffey has been riding since she was a small child growing up in Oregon. She competed in the small, medium, and large pony hunters before moving into the equitation ring. Andrea is grateful she had the opportunity to compete in the Maclay Finals the last year it was held at Madison Square Garden.
She attended Mount Holyoke College, where she was an active rider in the college’s equestrian program, and loved working with the director of intercollegiate coaching, CJ Law. After college, Andrea settled on the east coast, working for Fieldstone Show Park (formerly Fieldstone Farm) in Halifax, MA and Evenstride in Byfield, MA. She has had countless successes both as a rider and coach throughout New England.
Andrea particularly enjoys working with young horses and has special love for ponies.
Wyeth Joas
Wyeth grew up riding in New Hampshire, where she built a strong foundation in horsemanship and developed a lifelong love for working with horses. She has competed in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings, while bringing along young horses and ponies in the hunter ring. She is actively involved in 4-H and IEA, gaining experience both as a participant and coach, and values the strong foundation it provides in horsemanship and rider development.
In the past few years, she has also spent time in Utah working under multiple Grand Prix show jumping trainers, gaining valuable experience from top level programs that continues to shape her approach to riding and teaching.
Today, she specializes in working with junior and amateur riders, with a focus on building confidence and developing correct fundamentals. She is passionate about creating a fun, supportive environment where both horse and rider can learn, grow, and achieve their goals together.
